The feature race on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival is the Queen Mother Champion Chase. Traditionally the race has fewer entrants than the other grade one Cheltenham events but that doesn't mean the quality of the racing suffers in anyway shape or form. In recent years the betting market leaders have performed well and winners at big prices are uncommon. The best tip we can offer for the 2004 Cheltenham Festival Queen Mother is to select a horse which has displayed solid jumping form throughout the racing season and is capable of rising to the big occasions.

The 2003 Queen Mother Champion Chase was taken by the Irish entry Moscow Flyer in an extremely fast time, albeit in maybe slightly lucky circumstances. At two fences out his nearest challengers Latalomne and Seebald fell leaving Moscow Flyer clear of the field for the final couple of furlongs. As in 2002 Latalomne looked to be travelling well until unseating his rider and maybe with a little more experience he could well be the main danger in 2004. Native Upmanship and Cenkos occupied the placed positions rather fortunately, neither had been in position to challenge the front three until Latalomne and Seebald fell.
